NAPLES AND HERCULANEUM: On day 3, we awoke to a beautiful sunrise as the sun came up behind Mt. Vesuvius as we approached Naples. In port, I took lots of photos of Naples from the decks of the ship. The day also included a trip to the ancient city of Herculaneum - see the next blog entry below.
After returning from Herculaneum we enjoyed the ship, ate a lot of food, relaxed some more, and just enjoyed each other's company as we sat on the balcony of our cabin looking out at the port, ships, old and new buildings, beautiful weather, and wonderful sunset as we sailed from Naples toward Civitavecchia and Rome.
